2 new COVID-19 cases confirmed on 1st May 2020.

According to the Ministry of Health, the confirmed cases are, a 35-year-old Kenyan male truck driver who arrived via Busia border and a Ugandan male from Masindi District, who was confirmed from the rapid assessment survey.

The Ministry of Health is conducting the rapid assessment survey among high risk groups to establish community transmission of COVID-19.

The total of COVID-19 confirmed cases in Uganda are 85.

A total of 2,454 samples were tested at Uganda Virus Research Institute, all 399 samples from the community tested negative for COVID-19.

To-date 27 truck drivers have tested positive for COVID-19, of these 17 truck drivers have returned to their respective countries while 10 are admitted in different hospitals, according to the Ministry of Health.
