All 439 samples tested for COVID-19 today at UVRI have been confirmed Negative.

All 439 samples tested for COVID-19 on 10th April 2020 at UVRI have been confirmed Negative. The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 still remains 53.

A cumulative of 4301 samples have been tested at the Uganda Virus Research Institute.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Health a total of 439 individuals are under institutional quarantine while 610 contacts to the confirmed cases are under follow up.

The Director General of Health Services Dr Henry Mwebesa says all the 53 confirmed COVID cases are in stable condition; 20 of them in Mulago National Specialised hospital, 31 cases at Entebbe Grade B hospital, 1 case in  Adjumani and 1 case in Hoima.

Uganda has not registered any COVID-19 related death.

The Ministry of Health continues to appeal to the general population to stay at home and adhere to the preventive guidelines.
