Covid-19 Update 10-10-2020

Results of COVID-19 tests done on 10 October 2020 confirm 100 new cases. The cumulative confirmed cases are now 9,801. Please see attached poster for details and more information.

The breakdown of the new cases are; 100 contacts and alerts: Kampala (36), Abim (24), Gulu (18), Bugweri (3), Bushneyi (3), Jinja (2), Mbale (2), Adjumani (1), Bugiri (1), Buvuma (1), Iganga (1), Kumi (1), Masaka (1), Moyo (2), Napak (1), Wakiso (2) and Soroti (1). According to the Ministry of Health – Uganda, following a Presidential Directive of deducting all foreign truck drivers from Uganda’s case count, the confirmed COVID-19 cases now stands at 9,801. The total number of recoveries stands at 6,109 in Uganda. Uganda has registered 93 COVID-19 related deaths.

Remember to consistently and correctly wear cotton fabric masks when in public; with the increased number of community spread cases. Wash your hands regularly and thoroughly with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. Also, continue to follow WHO guidelines on social distancing, keep at least 4 meters from the individual nearest to you.
