Covid-19 Update 18-07-2020

Results from COVID-19 tests done on 17 July 2020, 6 new COVID-19 cases confirmed. The cumulative total confirmed cases of Ugandans are now 1,062. 1 alert from Buikwe District, 5 returnees who were under quarantine at the time of test. Regarding the returnees, 4 returned from South Africa while 1 Indian, a resident of Uganda returned from India. Active cases on admission are169, Ugandans on admission are145, Foreigners on admission are 22 and the Refugees on admission are 2. 26 foreign truck drivers tested positive for COVID-19 at the border points of entry and their entry into the country was not permitted. According to the Ministry of Health – Uganda, following a Presidential Directive of deducting all foreign truck drivers from Uganda’s case count, the confirmed COVID-19 cases now stands at 1,062. The total number of recoveries stands at 1,048 (both Ugandans and non-Ugandans) in Uganda. Uganda has NOT registered any COVID-19 related death to date.

Remember to wash your hands regularly and thoroughly with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. Also, continue to follow WHO guidelines on social distancing, keep at least 4 meters from the individual nearest to you.
