Covid-19 Update 22-11-2020

9 COVID-19 deaths reported among previously confirmed cases following investigations. However, the deaths occurred over a period of time. The total COVID-19 deaths are now 181. Results of COVID-19 tests done on 22 November 2020 confirm 197 new cases. The cumulative confirmed cases are now 18,165. Please see attached poster for details and more information. The breakdown of the new cases are: 197 contacts and alerts: Kampala (104), Sironko (20), Soroti (11), Kasese (13), Kisoro (7), Isingiro (7), Manafwa (4), Buyende (5), Mbale (3), Kyenjojo (4), Tororo (2), Bulambuli (2), Bududa (2), Jinja (2), Busia (2), Hoima (2), Ntungamo (2), Masaka (2), Kayunga (1), Kalungu (1), Kagadi (1), Amudat (1), Kamwenge (1). According to the Ministry of Health – Uganda, following a Presidential Directive of deducting all foreign truck drivers from Uganda’s case count, the confirmed COVID-19 cases now stands at 18,165. The total number of recoveries stands at 8,675 in Uganda. Uganda has registered 181 COVID-19 related deaths.

 Remember to consistently and correctly wear cotton fabric masks when in public; with the increased number of community spread cases. Wash your hands regularly and thoroughly with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. Also, continue to follow WHO guidelines on social distancing, keep at least 4 meters from the individual nearest to you.
