Uganda Virus Research Institute continues to receive and test more samples of the suspected cases of the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The UVRI Director Prof Pontiano Kaleebu says the institute has so far received 20 samples and all tests have been confirmed negative.

He says the institute has the capacity in terms of staff and equipment to test for the Corona virus.

He also disclosed that staff have been adequately trained to test the corona virus using equipment from Germany and China. Prof Pontiano revealed that the institute is able to test samples and get results between 4 and 6 hours.
