Uganda Virus Research Institute continues with drives to inspire the next generation scientists by hosting three young children who got the opportunity to visit the COVID-19 Vaccine preparation project. The project is being led by scientists in the department of Immunology constituting a very well-trained team.
The young pupils toured the lab and learnt about the processes involved in developing the vaccine and why the researchers need to put on protective gear. The passionate scientists in waiting learnt about keeping the samples at cold temperatures and why it’s important to observe standard laboratory procedures.
The standard operating procedures of the laboratory were adhered to and before entry to the laboratory. All visitors put on masks and sanitized themselves while on the research campus.
