Eight (8) new COVID-19 cases were confirmed today the. 6 out of 2,061 samples of truck drivers while 2 cases are from the community confirmed from the Rapid Assessment Survey. 5 truck drivers arrived via Malaba border post while 1 arrived via Mutukula point of entry. Also, there was 1 community case, a resident of Kyotera District while the other is a Ugandan truck driver from Mutukula.

One (1) new COVID-19 case confirmed out of 2,729 samples of truck drivers tested: 39-year-old Kenyan male truck driver who arrived via Malaba. Efforts to track him are underway. 201 samples from community all tested negative for COVID-19. Total COVID-19 confirmed cases is now at 89. Total samples tested on 03/05/2020 is 2,930.
Today, three (3) new cases were confirmed for COVID-19 out of the 2,484 samples tested at the UVRI. The confirmed cases are -2 out of 1,922 samples of truck drivers: 1 Kenyan and 1 Burundian who arrived via Malaba. Efforts to track them are underway. 1 out of 562 samples from the community, is a 22-year-old Ugandan male from Rakai District.
Today, two (2) new cases were confirmed for COVID-19 out of the 2,454 samples tested at the UVRI. The confirmed cases are: a 35-year-old Kenyan male truck driver who arrived via Busia border. Our tracking system shows that he returned to Kenya. The other one, is a Ugandan male from Masindi District, who was confirmed from the rapid assessment survey.
Two (2) new cases were confirmed for COVID-19 out of the 2,071 samples tested oday t the UVRI. Both cases were Kenyan male truck drivers; 55-year-old who arrived via Busia and 27-year-old who arrived via Malaba. Total number of confirmed cases of covid-19 stands at 83 in Uganda. Of the 2,071 samples tested, 492 samples from community tested negative for covid-19.
Two (2) new cases were confirmed for COVID-19 out of the 2,002 samples tested at the UVRI. Both cases are male; 24-year-old Ugandan and 21-year-old Burundian refugee. They are under quarantine at Rakai Hospital as they are contacts to an earlier confirmed Burundian refugee. Total number of confirmed cases of covid-19 stands at 18 in Uganda.
Today, all 2,557 samples tested negative for COVID-19. All 18 cases admitted in hospital are in stable condition. 6 Kenyans and 8 Tanzanians truck drivers have returned to their respective countries. Four (4) new cases were confirmed for COVID-19 out of the 1,989 samples tested. All new confirmed cases are Tanzanian truck drivers who arrived via Mutukula border. Total number of confirmed cases of covid-19 stands at 79 in Uganda. Of the 1,989 samples tested, 1,578 samples are from truck drivers while all 411 samples from community tested negative for covid-19.
All 1,408 samples tested negative today for covid-19 at the UVRI. 19 cases are in stable condition in hospitals while a total of 20,329 samples have tested for COVID-19 in Uganda to date.
