63 samples tested on 1st April 2020 at the Uganda Virus Research Institute all confirmed negative for COVID 19, according to the Minister of Health Dr Ruth Aceng.
Members of Health Committee of Parliament visited Uganda Virus Research Institute to be briefed on the institute’s preparedness and capacity to test COVID-19.
11 new COVID 19 cases were confirmed positive on 31st March 2020. So far Uganda has a total of 44 confirmed cases of COVID19.

The UVRI Director Prof Pontiano Kaleebu says the institute has so far received 20 samples and all tests have been confirmed negative.
He says the institute has the capacity in terms of staff and equipment to test for the Corona virus.
